Black Lives Don’t Matter … to Blacks

Goerge Floyd, George Floyd, George Floyd, …, repeat ad nauseum.  We all get it.  One black man was killed by a Minneapolis police officer in 2020.  Yes, George Floyd was an addict, had a three-times fatal level of fentanyl in his system, was in morbid health, had just passed fake money, had his drug dealer in the car, had played the “I can’t breathe” card on a previous arrest, still couldn’t breathe while sitting upright in the police car on the day he died, had resisted arrest, was a violent convicted felon, …  The Railer could go on and on.  But for arguments sake, let us posit (as adjudicated by a biased jury) that his death was 100% Officer Chauvin’s fault.  It was indeed a tragedy, but thankfully a rare one.  We all wish it had never happened.

But one isolated death should not overshadow the real threat facing blacks in the United States.  Of the at least 100 homicide victims in Minneapolis since May 25, 2020, only one was killed by a cop.  At least three-quarters of Minneapolis’s homicide and shooting victims are black, though the city is less than a fifth black.  Not coincidentally, this Minneapolis stat is close to the typical ratio.  For every questionable death involving police, more than 100 senseless deaths come by the hands of a fellow black.  So, BLM and your Demoncrat enablers, please explain how police are THE mortal threat?  One hundred versus one.  It’s advanced math for a union-run-urban-school dropout, but The Railer confidently asserts that one of those numbers is way bigger than the other.  Nationally, the 2018 black homicide count was about 7,500 according to the Violence Policy Center, and up sharply since then.  We also know that 80-90% of those victims were the result of black-on-black violence.

With those numbers in mind, virtue signaling whites and lefty press lemmings drown us with false narratives of rare circumstantial police killings.  The Railer previously discussed several of these in this posting.  In most cases, the “victims” are largely responsible for the tragic turn of events.  Meanwhile, blacks are killing other blacks in eye-popping numbers.  In fact, if you wanted to kill more blacks through fratricidal violence, you would deliberately remove, discourage, disparage, defund, the very (few) people who can stop that – our local police.  As a result, black homicide rates are exploding in Democrat controlled cities coast-to-coast.

Chicago up 43%, on top of 50% in 2020, expressway shootings up 100%. NYC up 20%, on top of 46% in 2020.  Minneapolis up 113%Los Angeles up 127%Oakland up 132%Philadelphia up 30%, Portland up 800%St. Louis up 23%.  St. Louis is now the murder capital of the U.S, passing Libtopia, Baltimore.  Demtard Mayor Tishaura Jones says the solution is to defund the police and close a city jail.  She is a Harvard graduate.  We should defund Harvard.  Every headline is the same: Lib-City-Near-You Could Set New Homocide Records in 2021. Anyone detect a trend or theme here?

The sad fact is that our most dangerous, most murderous cities are disproportionately black.  They are ruled, top to bottom, by Democrats and have been for decades.  That’s the big picture, but what does this mayhem look like at street level?  Here’s a typical story from trendy St. Petersburg, Florida.  Change the names, a few details, and it reads like thousands of similar reports.

Mayor Rick Kriseman and Police Chief Anthony Holloway spoke about the gun violence so far this year. In 2020, there were 15 homicides in the city; in the first three months of 2021, there have been 12.

“The victims of these 12 homicides are all African Americans,” Holloway said. “Eleven were killed by gunshot. Every one of the suspects are African American. As an African American, this pains me.”

Two of the homicides occurred on March 30. First, 19-year-old D’Quaz Davis was shot and killed on Fargo Street South. Two suspects have since been arrested.

A few hours later, 21-year-old K’Mia Simmons was shot and killed. Police say the shootings were unrelated.

Holloway said Simmons, who was not the intended target was holding her 1-year-old daughter at the time of the shooting, and her 2-year-old daughter was in the back seat. Simmons was in the passenger seat of a car stopped at the intersection of 18th Avenue South and 22nd Street South.

Libtard Mayor Rick Kriseman defunded the police in 2020, cutting 25 officers.  How’s that workin’ out for ya St. Pete?

Democrat’s obsessive focus on police is an evil, murderous, distraction.  The root cause boils down to broken culture and eons of bad Democrat Party policies.  Democrats oppressed blacks for centuries, first as slave owners, then by their KKK terrorists and Jim Crow laws.  In the 60’s, when a 60 day Democrat Senate filibuster couldn’t stop the 1964 Civil Rights Act, they flipped their game from racist oppression to doling out community destroying welfare.  Democrats nuked the nuclear family by pushing out black fathers.  Now ice the cake with victimhood, defund the police, condescending affirmative action, drugs, tolerance for crime on streets and in schools, corruption, powerlessness, and “systemic racism” fictions.  Let’s rewrite history while we’re at it, ala 1619.  Their comprehensive program has paralyzed, degraded, murdered, maimed, and misled too many innocent people.

But, libs say, whites kill whites, Asians kill Asians, …  True, and nobody cares about that.  Other groups kill each other too but with much, much less enthusiasm.  Blacks kill blacks at rates that are eight times white-on-white.  Are whites protesting in the street, burning businesses, screaming to innocent diners that because “white lives matter” we should defund the police?  That’d be crazy!  If the police killed a white George Floyd, which they routinely do in much greater numbers, what would happen?  Nothing, absolutely nothing.  Studies show that police are more likely to pull the trigger on a white suspect.  This makes perfect sense.  No one is fired or prosecuted for killing a white perp given the thinnest extenuating circumstances.  The reaction from the “white community,” if there were such a thing, would be a thank-you card saying “Great job, scratch one long-criminal-record douchebag predator.”

In engineering, we fix things by first accurately identifying root cause.  We do that with data and experiments.  Nothing else works because reality is a stubborn thing.  If police are the greatest threat to Black Americans, then we need to attack that.  But they’re not, not by a long shot (pun intended).  Police are 3rd digit round-off error on a very big and complex problem.

If “Black Lives Matter,” then we must look honestly at what or who is taking black lives.  Blathering about systemic racism, police reform, police defunding, criminal justice reform, emptying jails, eliminating bail, refusing to prosecute crimes, …, are deliberate distractions, or worse.  They are all proven ways to increase the death and mayhem that keep Democrats in power.
