The central character of George Orwell’s book 1984, Winston Smith, worked in the Ministry of Truth. The fictional inhabitants of Oceania communicated in Newspeak, the official language. Of course, in Newspeak (leftspeak today) everything is upside down or opposite. The Ministry of Truth is where the oppressive state creates lies, propaganda, and rewrites history. Orwell didn’t need much imagination in the 1940’s, as the Soviet Union had long perfected these methods. Official photos of Soviet Party Apparatchiks were constantly edited and updated to remove the faces of those who died of lead poisoning against a moonscape pock marked concrete wall. “No, those people in 1930’s Ukraine didn’t starve. They got so fat on Stalin’s plenty that millions of them died of obesity.”
Totalitarians have strong need to erase or change history. Knowing that, the WWII Allies preserved the Holocaust sites and dragged the German locals through the camps. No one could ever deny the horrors of the camps and the millions who died there. The evidence… is right… there. The world said “never again.” If you don’t believe it happened, go see it with your own eyes.
Enter the Democrats!
House Democrats have passed legislation to remove 15 statues because of their connection to the Confederacy, slavery, or white supremacy, 13 of whom were Democrats.
The Democrat Party is trying to erase its own history. Between their sponsored riots of a violent virtue spiral, the Party’s growing Marxist faction is discovering that their own history is an inconvenient truth. How can they libel every Republican as a racist when all these contrary Democrat reminders remain in plain sight? Racism was/is an exclusive Democrat Party franchise. Like the Ministry of Truth, what’s down is up and up is down, and Democrats know that it is past time to destroy the evidence and rewrite the history.
According to the article linked above, 13 of the 15 statues removed by H.R. 7573 honor Democrats. What about the remaining two? Robert E. Lee had no party affiliation – but he did lead the Confederate Army. General Edmund Kirby Smith served with General Lee. Hmmm… neither sounds like a Republican. And don’t you know, emphatically, that the Democrats searched high and low for a token Republican icon they could add to their legislation. Just one would allow them to scream: “See! See! See! Both Republicans AND Democrats were racists.” They couldn’t find one.
Why do Democrats think that they can get away with this Soviet style trick? It’s much easier when they also own the Ministries of Education. Liberal educators have indoctrinated at least two generations with a false and unrecognizable American story. There’s no celebration of what’s good, no mention of our world changing human ideals, the birth of inalienable human rights, our progress. Increasingly, there’s no acknowledgement of the contributions of all races, including… god forbid… Euro-Americans.
Democrats hope that you’ll forget what really happened, and that’s a good bet with their low information base. But racism is hard coded in their DNA, and even though they’re scrubbing the evidence from our schools and public spaces, a few of us still know the truth. Je me souviens.
